Precoat is a synthetically produced amorphous pyrogenic silica.
Precoat is used for the initial treatment of filters. Initial treatment with Precoat filter powder extends the filter's service life and improves cleaning efficiency. For the greatest possible benefit, initial precoating must be carried out carefully and slowly.
Approximately 10 g per m² of filter area is required for precoating filter cartridges.

Conveying and handling Precoat can cause electrostatic charges, so appropriate safety measures are required. All components must be adequately earthed. Wear a suitable dust mask when filling or transferring Precoat to avoid inhaling it. Do not stir up spilled material by sweeping; remove it with a suitable industrial vacuum cleaner.
