Precoat is a synthetically produced, amorphous, fumed silica.
Precoat is used for the initial treatment of filters. The initial treatment of the filter with precoat filter powder increases the service life of the filter and improves the cleaning efficiency. To maximise the benefits, the initial precoating must be carried out carefully and slowly.
Approx. 10 g per m² of filter surface are required to precoat filter cartridges.

Conveying and processing precoat can lead to electrostatic charges, therefore appropriate safety measures are required. It is important that all components are adequately earthed. To avoid inhalation of precoat, wear a suitable dust mask when filling or decanting. Do not stir up scattered material by sweeping, but vacuum it up with a suitable industrial hoover.
